I bought these blocks for my daughter's first birthday because she was starting to stack things and it's never too early to start learning your ABCs, right? At first I flinched at the price tag and looked at other wooden block sets, but nothing came close to the beautifully classic look of this set. One small hitch was that I purchased the crate to store them in and it fell apart as I pulled it out of the packaging since the pieces were simply held together with glue at the joints. A few tiny brads fixed and secured everything into place. So a minor inconvenience in an otherwise positive shopping experience. Overall, I am so happy we purchased these beautifully made, high quality items. The letter and picture etchings are whimsical, and the different colors of wood are gorgeous and neutral enough that they won't clash with her room decor even as it changes. We are very pleased!
